Biography
Zeniba Now is an artist whose work aims to inspire possibility in human consciousness through stories and events that blend intellect, humor, and heart.
Her writing for the stage includes Beloved (The Public Theater, PBS), Take the Lead (Warner Bros. Theatrical, Paper Mill Playhouse), The Loophole (The Public Theater; headliner of the Passing the Mic Intergenerational Hip Hop Festival), Human Resources (Woolly Mammoth, St. Louis Rep), Sincerely, Z (Olmstead Theatre), The Speed of Truth (Joe’s Pub), Trash Talk (Pearlman PAC NYC), April Fools (The Green Room 42), and iQuit: Millennial Retirement Gala (The Green Room 42).
She is the recipient of the Richard Rodgers Award, Jonathan Larson Grant, Vivace Idea Award, and Thom Thomas Award, as well as honors including Dramatists Guild Foundation Fellow, Kleban Librettist Finalist, and Fred Ebb Award Finalist.
She has taught multidisciplinary and multimedia storytelling at NYU, The National Endowment for the Arts, The University of Wisconsin–Madison, Musical Theatre Factory, Dramatist Guild Traveling Masters, and #BARS at The Public Theatre.
