Zara holds a Bachelor of Music (Music Education) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she studied classical voice under the tutelage of Robyn Wells. She has her A.Mus.A. qualification in both voice and piano, and is an accomplished performer, music director and conductor.
Recent credits as music director include If/Then (Theatre & Company), CARRIE: The Musical (Louis Ellis Productions), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (T&C) and Rock of Ages (SYMT). As a performer, Zara’s credits include City of Angels (MUSE), Wicked (WTC) and The Light In The Piazza (MUSE), and she has most recently been seen in The Colour Orange, a new, award-winning, satirical Australian musical about Pauline Hanson, playing at the Sydney Fringe, Adelaide Fringe and Sydney Comedy Festivals.
In November 2019, Zara will music direct a new production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore for the Hayes Theatre Co.
Zara currently teaches voice at Meriden School, as well as performing regularly as a soprano soloist with the Taverner Consort of Voices and at various other corporate and private functions around Sydney.
