Yun Hao

Biography

Born in Beijing, China, Yun Hao is an accomplished piano soloist and chamber musician who has performed in China, Australia, the United States, Finland, and Croatia. She is highly praised for her truthful pianistic expressions and deep understanding of music as a pianist who plays with great sensitivity, strong conviction, and sincerity. Ms. Hao is currently pursuing her DMA degree working with Prof. Pavel Nersessian at Boston University, College of Fine Arts. Her recent performances include contemporary solo and chamber works at the Mostly Modern Music Festival; Manhattan School of Music Lives of Piano concert series; Sunday Evenings at Klavierhaus concert series; Third Street Settlement School at New York City, and Princeton Symphony Orchestra performing Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring. Her collaboration with guitarist Mr. David Starobin playing William Bland’s 4th sonata for guitar and piano was recorded and published through Bridge Records, New Music With Guitar Vol.12 in 2019.

After graduating from Manhattan School of Music with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Piano Performance, she continued pursuing her passion in music education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Yun Hao is certified to teach general music in New York State public schools at grade level K-12. With an interest in exploring better ways teachers can facilitate student’s learning, Yun Hao seeks to delve deeper into this synergistic collaboration with her students and work together with her fellow teachers to build meaningful learning experiences, and create a multicultural environment supporting emerging learners.
