Wilfred Gongming Moeschter
Wilfred Moeschter is a Toronto-based composer for stage and screen. He is the composer for A Perfect Bowl of Pho, an original musical which has been performed at the 2018 Paprika Festival, at Factory Studio Theatre in collaboration with fu-GEN Theatre (Jan-Feb 2019), and as part of the 2020 Toronto Fringe Collective. Pho will next appear at the 2022 Toronto Fringe Festival.
After graduating from the University of Toronto in 2019 with a B.A. in Ethics, Society and Law (and spending more time and effort doing theatre than on his degree), Wilfred knew that music composition was his true passion and dream career. He is an extremely strong collaborator with a keen understanding of emotional storytelling. This, combined with his ability to compose in a wide range of styles and genres is what makes him so effective at distilling a director/writer’s vision into strong musical elements.
Wilfred is currently in North Carolina, completing his M.F.A. in Film Music Composition at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he is mentored by Chris Heckman. His film scoring portfolio is available on his website.
In addition to Pho, Wilfred has composed original music for Peter Pan, The Goat, Twelfth Night (all with Victoria College Drama Society) and Electra (St. Michael’s College Troubadours), and has done some acting on occasion.
