Wilfred Moeschter
Biography
Wilfred Moeschter is a Toronto-based composer for stage and screen. He is the composer of a wide variety of short films, as well as A Perfect Bowl of Pho, an original musical which was the best-reviewed, best-selling show at the 2022 Toronto Fringe Festival. He and his Pho collaborator Nam Nguyen are developing Red Tide, an original musical that was originally commissioned for Theatre Sheridan’s First Drafts series. Wilfred was a member of the Musical Stage Company’s 2023 NoteWorthy Program.
After graduating from the University of Toronto with a B.A. in Ethics, Society and Law (and spending more time and effort doing theatre than on his degree), Wilfred knew that music composition was his true passion and dream career. He is an extremely strong collaborator with a keen understanding of emotional storytelling. This, combined with his ability to compose in a wide range of styles and genres is what makes him so effective at distilling a director/writer’s vision into strong musical elements.
Wilfred completed his M.F.A. in Film Music Composition at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he was mentored by Chris Heckman. His film scoring portfolio is available on his website.
