Wes D'Alelio

Wes D'Alelio

Biography

Wes D’Alelio is a music director, singer, and actor/musician, graduating from Northwestern in June, studying theatre and music, earning a certificate in musical theatre, and a module in musical theatre writing, which will culminate in a reading of his new musical titled “90 Miles”, which is inspired by his family’s Cuban immigration story.

Most recently, he served as a Music Assistant for the pre-Broadway workshop of Ingrid Michaelson’s “The Notebook” at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. He’s currently music directing the 92nd Annual Waa-Mu Show Presents: Romance En Route, and handling pre-production copy work as Music Assistant to another upcoming Chicago-based pre-Broadway workshop.

Although currently living in Illinois, Wes plans to move to NYC this Summer, and seek work as a copyist and/or music assistant for workshops and developmental readings of new musicals. One day, he hopes to be one of the best Cuban music directors on Broadway, but he firmly believes that Alex Lacamoire will always be #1. His greatest influences include Lin-Manuel Miranda, Alex Lacamoire, Bruno Mars, Robin De Jesus, and John Mayer.

He also has nearly 15 years of experience as an a cappella beatboxer and vocalist, and 4 years as an a cappella arranger for his group at Northwestern, THUNK a Cappella. After 4 years of intense training in notation, orchestration, acting, piano performance, keyboard-conducting, vocal arranging, and fingerstyle guitar, Wes can’t wait to fully join the professional world and collaborate to tell new stories.
