Sita Sunil
Biography
Sita Sunil is a composer, librettist, writer, and painter born in West Virginia and based in NYC. She developed her composition skillset with Rebecca Cherian of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Her recent projects include “Illegal: A New Musical” and “High Time for Chai Time” written with collaborator Skyler Chin. In 2022, Illegal was named an O’Neill NMTC semifinalist and was commended for responding to anti-Asian hate through art. Sita’s work has been performed in partnership with educational and theater organizations across the country. She currently attends the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop and Prospect Theater Lab.
