
Sheldon Steele
Biography
Sheldon Steele is an internationally recognized creative artist, music director, entrepreneur, consultant, and educator. He is a graduate of Rider University from which he holds a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre Performance and a M.A. in Arts Management & Executive Leadership. Sheldon was in the 2016 cohort of the GRAMMY Foundation’s “Grammy Camp” Songwriting Program where he studied at the University of Southern California under the leadership of Chris Sampson (Dean of Popular Music Studies). He has served as a Music Director, Rehearsal MD, Church Musician, Section Leader, and most recently, as the Director of Programming and Executive Producer at the historic Newark Symphony Hall in Newark, NJ. Previous notable roles include: Adjunct Music Teacher at Harlem School of the Arts and Founding Theatre Teacher at Great Oaks Charter School in NYC. Performance Credits Include – International Tour: Dreamgirls (Ens- u/s – CC White) New York Theatre: Saturday Night Fever (John W. Engeman Theatre) Regional Credits: Hairspray (Seaweed), Aida, Sister Act, and Big River (Thingamajig Theatre Company). He gives thanks to God for the gift of art and the ability to use art as a vessel of change and healing.
