Rahel Lulseged
Biography
Rahel Lulseged was born in Dallas, Texas with origins from Ethiopia. She started on cello at age 12 in the 6th grade, truthfully to go to six flags at the end of the year, but ended up finding a real passion for music. She went on to the arts High School, Booker T. Washington HSPVA, after applying in secret from her parents. She received her Bachelors from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, under the tutelage of Alan Stepansky with the Rose and Leon J. Neiburger scholarship, as well as the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Performing Arts Scholarship. She then went on to receive a Masters in Orchestral Performance at the Manhattan School of Music on a full tuition scholarship. A highlight during her time in New York was when she had the opportunity to tour in Australia with Ms. Solange Knowles. Most recently, Rahel made her Broadway debut at Hamilton the musical in February of her last semester at MSM. She also plays at Suffs the musical, and previously at The Wiz. In 2025, she will join the Philip company of the Hamilton National Tour.
