Philip Fletcher
Biography
Philip Fletcher is a Brooklyn-born Bass Trombonist and Low Brass freelancer in the greater Tri-State Area. During his early years, Philip had the honor and privilege of playing with the New York Pops two years consecutively through the Kids on Stage Program.
More recently, Philip has performed classic works and freelances as a bass trombonist in orchestras throughout New York. Striving to be a versatile player, he has also performed in big band settings at venues such as Birdland playing with the Yardbird Big Band, and Dizzy’s Club in Jazz for Dizzy Gillespie’s Birthday Celebration at Lincoln Center. Past Summers, Philip has used his time teaching students and playing a variety of amateur productions a performing arts camp French Woods Festival. Here he has performed many broadway show books such as Sweeney Todd, On the Town, Company and, Merrily We Roll Along to name a few.
For the future of 2025 Philip plans on continuing his brass studies as a Masters Student at the Manhattan School of Music studying Classical Bass Trombone and has continued to play outside of his education in NYC orchestras such as the Jackson Heights Orchestra and with the Richmond County Orchestra.
