Nicole Lam
Biography
Nicole Lam is a musical director, orchestral conductor, pianist, and vocalist in her last year of study at Yale University.
As a musical director, Nicole most recently music directed Into the Woods produced by the Yale Dramatic Association. Other selected musical theatre credits include: Pippin, The Great Comet of 1812, Gypsy, Violet, and A Chorus Line. She also has music directed performances by the Yale Schwarzman Center and Yale Artists Cabaret.
Nicole is also an orchestral conductor. She serves as the assistant conductor of Yale Symphony Orchestra, and the music director of the oldest student-run orchestra on campus, Berkeley College Orchestra.
Nicole grew up as a classical concert pianist, winning first prize at the Houston International Music Competition and Steinway Junior Southern California Division. She continues to study piano at the Yale School of Music with Professor Elizabeth Parisot.
Lastly, Nicole has had extensive experience leading and singing in choirs, previously leading the San Gabriel Valley Children’s Chorus and performing with the Yale Schola Cantorum.
Nicole is working towards her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at Yale University, where she received the Joseph Lentilhon Selden Memorial Award her junior year.
