Biography
Nick Benefield is a music director, composer/lyricist, and pianist. He is a recent music composition and piano Bachelor of Music graduate from Belmont University in Nashville where he interned in the Musical Theater Department with music director Jo Lynn Burks.
Most recently, he has worked as a pianist and music director for several musical theatre productions, orchestras, and choirs. Currently, he is working on a musical called Driving On about the experiences of queer, brown sons of immigrants–inspired by his own experience as the son of a Filipino immigrant. He is also collaborating as a composer on a musical about the composer Erik Satie.
Having recently moved to Queens, he is seeking work as a composer, pianist, music assistant, or copyist and would love to help develop new musicals. As a composer himself, he is always looking to work on new ideas.
