Biography

Marjae is a writer, singer-songwriter, lyricist, and actress from Connecticut.

She is currently living in NYC as a student at Marymount Manhattan College, pursuing a BA in Theatre Arts: Writing For the Stage, and has aspirations to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre.

Marjae has been singing since she was six years old, and has four years of classical piano training experience in conjunction with the Christ Church School of the Arts (discontinued).

She has portrayed various ensemble roles, featuring in the Wizard of Oz and Suessical Jr. while attending The Williams School, located on the campus of Connecticut College. She had covered solo and duet songs during The Williams School’s Singing Assembly. She also participated in Concert Band for two years, featuring in various concerts while attending The Williams School.

Marjae continued her education at Norwich Free Academy (NFA), receiving various awards throughout her high school career, including induction into The National Honors Society and the St. Anthony Chapel Scholarship Award. During her time at NFA, she participated in the school’s Summer Leadership Training Program, to go on to become a Project Outreach Community Service Coordinator. She spearheaded various community service projects, and leaded a presentation about “Self Care and Self Esteem” at the Community Coalition for Children “Grow U” Leadership Conference, held at Mitchell College. She also maintained status as an NFA Student Advisory Board At-Large Representative.

She also ushered for the NFA’s fall production, Clue, and was a member of the show’s set design build team.

Music, singing, and songwriting had always been Marjae’s true passion, as she continued participating in solo singing performances at family gatherings, birthday parties and funerals. She received vocal performance training via NFA’s Fundementals of Vocal Technique class, and music production training via NFA’s Music Technology class.

After graduation, Marjae never lost sight of her passion for storytelling, and continued her education at Quinnipiac University as a Behavioral Neuroscience major while also pursuing a BA in Film, TV, & Media Arts. She worked closely with Emmy-nominated documentary film director Lise Balk-King via her Understanding Film class.

She now attends Marymount Manhattan College in the heart of Manhattan as a member of their College Honors Program to pursue a BA in Theatre Arts: Writing for the Stage, and has aspirations to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre.
