Biography

Mariana currently has the percussionist chair of the Hit Broadway show SIX .  She also hold the drums/percussion chair at the first National Broadway Tour of Once On This Island from 2019-2020. Mariana has subbed in percussion and drums other Broadway and Off Broadway shows such as Ain’t Too Proud, Head Over Heels, Once on this Island, Merrily We Roll Along and Fiddler in Yidish, among others.  Mariana has performed  with symphonic ensembles, bands and chamber music in halls such as the Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Radio City, Joe’s Pub, 54 below among many others around the world in Mexico, Europe, China and Japan.

Mariana is also passionate for education promoting Mexican traditions through music among Latin American communities. She is a teaching artists at Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and has collaborated with S’Cool Sounds, Bridge Arts Ensemble, School of Rock for Girls, Bronx Conservatory of Music, among many others.

Mariana is also the founder of the first all female percussion quartet in NYC called Excelsis. They just won a grant by Chamber Music America.
