Kristina Teuschler

Kristina Teuschler

Biography

Hailed as a “superb clarinetist” by the Washington Post, Kristina Teuschler is a musician and cultural worker. She is a first-generation American, a child of Jamaican and Brazilian immigrants. She grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and lives in New York City.

Kristina joined the West Point Band as a clarinetist in 2018. In addition to this full-time job, she is a versatile musician that performs with a variety of ensembles; from symphony orchestras, to indie bands, to contemporary ensembles. Highlights have included performances with Orchestra of St. Luke’s on their chamber music series, Lincoln Center’s multi-media production of New York Counterpoint, and International Contemporary Ensemble.
Her recent Off-Broadway theatrical performances include the world premiere of BalletCollective’s new dance-driven musical production, “The Night Falls.” She held the Reed 1 chair (clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone, recorder) on Little Island’s 2024 production of “Marriage of Figaro,” a creative reimagining of the opera featuring countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo. She also held the Reed 1 chair (clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone) on Target Margin Theatre’s 2025 Production of “Show/Boat: A River”

She is frequently recording and performing with many independent artists and bands in New York City, and performs an original electronic music project playfully titled ‘mock audition’ that combines manipulated samples, clarinet repertoire, and live processing to provide a satirical critique of Western art music.

Kristina received her Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern University and her Master’s Degree from Manhattan School of Music. Her primary teachers were Mark Nuccio, Steven Cohen, and J. Lawrie Bloom.
