Jenia Marquez
Biography
Jenia Marquez is a member of the Class of 2025 at Princeton University majoring in Linguistics with minors in Conducting (choral/musical theatre) and French. She is the Manager of the Princeton University Glee Club, Princeton’s oldest and most prestigious choir, and is the Assistant Music Director of the Princeton Tigerlilies, the oldest all-female-identifying a cappella group at Princeton founded by some of the first women at the university. She is the Music Manager of the Princeton University Players, and has music directed and conducted several shows per year, including Onegin, To All The Babies I’ve Killed Before: A Love-Hate Letter to Storytelling (student senior thesis production), Something Rotten!, A Chorus Line, and Ghost Quartet. Additionally, she serves as the Student Leader with Trenton Youth Singers, a choir comprising Princeton undergraduates and Trenton high and middle school students.
She also serves as the Director of External Communications of Diversimento, an organization dedicated to supporting diversity in the arts through concert fundraisers, in-school workshops for student musicians, creating recordings of unknown works, and otherwise raising awareness about inequity in the music industry.
Outside of music directing, Jenia works as a Fellow at the Writing Center, a French translator for the Princeton University Language Project (PULP), and an intern at CUNY Computing Integrated Teacher Education (CITE) at the City University of New York.
