Biography

Jeffery Chen is an Asian-American comedian and songwriter from New York and San Francisco whose work explores the intersections of mental health and identity. A recent Princeton graduate in Neuroscience and Musical Theatre, he creates musicals that merge storytelling and psychology to foster empathy through humor and honesty. His original musical A Life Worth Living, inspired by his experience in adolescent mental health treatment, premiered at Princeton in 2024 after a two-year development process, and is currently being developed by Newport NewWorks out of 400+ submissions. Jeffery’s later works include A Leaf in the Wind and Whatever It Takes. He is a proud member of ASCAP and the Dramatists Guild of America.
