Jason Kisare is an actor, musician, composer and recent Yale grad who made his Broadway debut in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock, the Musical. He holds a B.A. in Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies, with a focus in musical theater writing. He studied under Jeanine Tesori, Kirsten Childs, Michael Korie, Scott Frankel, and Joshua Rosenblum.

Jason’s written and staged 3 original musicals at Yale, Long Way Down (an adaptation of Jason Reynolds’s award winning book), Black Boy Therapy!, and Black Santa, leading to a nomination for Yale’s Sudler Prize, for Excellence in the Performing and Creative Arts. His music has also been performed at 54 Below. Jason’s work aims to capture timely racial issues that are important to him through daring, thought-provoking storytelling that simultaneously entertains and challenges the status quo.

As an actor and multi-instrumentalist, his performance credits include Broadway: School of Rock, NY Theater: Tomorrow Never Came (HERE Arts Center), TV/Film: “Girl Haunts Boy” (Netflix), “Awkwafina is Nora from Queens” (Comedy Central), “New Amsterdam” (NBC).
