Biography

From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, drummer Jaren Angud’s ideals are centered around being a “Total Drummer”.  He frequently performs musical theatre shows, large corporate events and weddings, as well as freelance studio-recording work for songwriters and local bands.

From 2014 to 2016, Jaren was granted to opportunity to perform around the world, performing on touring Broadway shows such as the national tour of Flashdance The Musical, and the 25th Anniversary international tour of Disney’s Beauty and The Beast.  Stateside, he was also hired to perform with the touring productions of Beautiful: The Carole King Story, and the Celtic Thunder Symphony Holiday Tour.

Recently, Jaren has been the resident drummer and percussionist for the prestigious Fulton Theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, since 2019.  At the Fulton, he has played shows such as Kinky Boots, Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia, The Wiz, Evita, Fun Home, just to name a few.  His versatility as both a drum set player and classically-trained percussionist has made him a first-call musician in Lancaster and the surrounding cities.

​Jaren earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Classical and Jazz Performance from Rowan University and a Masters of Music degree in Performance from Penn State University. While at Penn State University he earned the Graduate Teaching Assistantship Scholarship, in which he was given the opportunity to conduct the Penn State Percussion Ensemble, teach lessons, and teach Percussion Methods course.  Recently, Jaren is a freelance musician in the greater Central PA area and is the resident drummer for the Fulton Theatre, the American Music Theatre, the award-winning bands Central City Orchestra and Downtown Sound.  He has also made a name for himself in the local scene as a freelance studio/live drummer for bands and songwriters.

​Currently, Jaren is playing drums at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster, PA, for the 2023 Christmas Show “The First Noel”, which is playing through December of 2023.
