Janice Lowe
Biography
I am a composer-pianist-vocalist-poet who collaborates on all manner of music-text hybrids. I am the composer of LIL BUDDA, Text by Stephanie L. Jones, which was presented at NAMT and at the Eugene O’Neil Musical Theater Conference. My works for jazz ensemble have been performed at the Berlin Jazz Festival, Festival Jantar, and Crossing Border. I am currently collaborating with Tyehimba Jess in composing a song cycle based on poems from OLIO, his Pulitzer Prize awarded collection. I perform and record with my band Janice Lowe & NAMAROON.
