Griffith and Orr
Biography
Sól Griffith and Brandon Orr captivate with their storytelling through song. Their passionate lyrics and melodies immerse audiences and resonate long after the final note.
The duo’s journey began in 2016 at Berklee College of Music, where they met on their first day. From the start, they embodied the phrase “opposites attract.” Their differences didn’t divide them but instead became the foundation of a friendship that thrives on harmony, strength, and mutual respect. Post graduation, their partnership deepened. In 2023 Griffith and Orr began songwriting for animation, participating in Disney Television Animation’s Experiential Design Lab. The magic of their collaboration was undeniable. There, they placed as finalists in the songwriting competition, forming a creative partnership that continues to propel them forward.
Griffith and Orr’s latest collaboration, the 2D animated horror short film MMANWU, explores the intersection of Igbo-Nigerian culture, magical realism, and horror with themes of grief, spirituality, and cross-cultural understanding. The film’s soundtrack, sung entirely in the Igbo language, offers a profound connection to both the emotional narrative and cultural heritage.
Griffith and Orr have the unique ability to collaborate across coasts. With studios in Los Angeles and Boston, their bicoastal setup allows for seamless teamwork, whether remotely or in person. Sól is a music director, independent artist, and songwriter based in Los Angeles, furthering her abilities in film scoring. Brandon’s work spans K-pop and Latin pop songwriting, along with deepening his skillsets in music production and engineering from his base in Boston. Together, they bring their talents to diverse projects—from Broadway musicals to Hollywood films, and everything in between.
