Biography

Gaurav Mishra began their musical escapades at the noble age of three when they stumbled upon their sister’s abandoned keyboard and decided to have themselves a go. Since then, Gaurav has been formally trained in piano, oboe, and saxophone, and has performed in concert on a range of instruments, from accordion to pennywhistle. Gaurav studied both theatre studies and music composition in college at the University of California, Santa Barbara – along with economics/accounting for good measure. Currently, they are a student at NYU’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. Gaurav does not like to be constrained to any particular form or style of music – among other things, they have been employed as both a jazz pianist at a Chinese restaurant and a composer for theatre, video games and film. They also release indie songs under the pseudonym of “Enyn,” with which they have gained over 300,000 Spotify streams. Music genres that Gaurav currently has a preponderance towards at the moment include the Sunshine Pop movement, Peruvian Chicha, and more or less anything else with a Farfisa organ. Beyond music, Gaurav loves birds, falling asleep to linguistics podcasts, and wearing flip-flops anywhere they can.
