Biography

I am Ekamba Odey, a Film Maker, Human Rights Activist, and Dramatist from Nigeria. I am passionate about work around story telling in general and I’ve independently worked on developing my skills as well, I am an alumni of the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF), Training program Terra Culture South South Training Programme for Théâtre, and a Bisi Alimi Foundation Rainbow Academy Scholar for 2022 and I am currently the only Scholar from Africa for Beth Morrison Projects: Producers Academy 2022 which is one of the biggest Opera Houses in the United States. I am extremely versatile with a very open mind that has lead me into all forms of experiences. I’ve written, produced directed 3 short film independently and last December, I wrote, produced and directed my first Broadway like theatre musical production called Sọ̀rọ̀ Sókè The Christmas Musical which was an adaptation of the Christian nativity story into modern day Nigeria. I just debuted my latest stage musical production Fickle Game at the Lagos Fringe Festival 2022.

My key area of interest are in religion, Gender identities, feminism and story telling as a tool for Activism and Human rights.
