Dawson Horey
Biography
Dawson Horey is a rising woodwind doubler and educator from Buffalo, NY. Starting off as a saxophone player, he has ventured into the entire woodwind family. Studying under Bobby Militello at Univeristy at Buffalo for a Bachelors in Music Performance, he has been featured in the UB Jazz Band, Concert Band, Genkin Philharmonic, and more. He is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Contemporary Performance with a clarinet focus at UB. You may see him in the Western New York and Rochester region playing jazz, rock, classical, musical theater, pop, and contemporary.
As a dedicated educator, Dawson has lead workshops for local high school bands. He currently teaches a private studio virtually and in person for woodwind players. Using the many lessons he has learned from his different teachers, he offers players an introspective into playing their instrument in any style or genre.
