Dawson Horey
Biography
Dawson Horey is a versatile and dedicated woodwind doubler with experience performing on saxophones, flutes, clarinets, oboe, and a wide array of world woodwinds including duduk, pennywhistles, and many others. They hold a master’s degree in Woodwind Doubling from New Jersey City University, where they honed their craft under the guidance of several prominent Broadway woodwind chair holders.
Dawson has subbed in both Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, bringing adaptability, precision, and a deep musical understanding to every pit. Their work spans a wide range of musical settings, from traditional theater scores to contemporary, jazz, classical, and commercial styles. In addition to Western genres, Dawson is passionate about learning and performing music from around the world, continuously expanding their palette through the study of global woodwind traditions and techniques.
