Biography

Athena So is a music director, pianist, and arts educator based in Toronto, Canada.

She began her musical journey as a classical pianist with the Royal Conservatory of Music and continued her studies in piano performance and conducting at York University. While completing her degrees in Bachelor of Fine Arts (Spec. Hon. Music) and Bachelor of Education, her passion for musical theatre bloomed. Athena immersed herself in the musical theatre world, first, as an accompanist at cabarets and a member of pit orchestras, and then transitioning into the world of music direction shortly after. Since then, she has served as the music director/conductor and pianist in several regional productions within Toronto. In July of 2019, Athena co-founded On Its Way Musical Productions and continues her roles as both the artistic producer and resident music director.
