Alyssa Kim
Biography
Alyssa Kim is a professional violinist based in New York City whose work spans musical theater, classical performances, and viral online content.
Currently a senior at Columbia University, Alyssa has led the pit orchestra as Concertmaster and Assistant Music Director for various musical theater productions on campus including Phantom of the Opera, Next to Normal, Sunday in the Park with George, and John & David: A Painted Musical. She has collaborated with renowned artists like The Piano Guys, Julia Riew, and was featured in the House Band for Maestra Music’s First Takes: Holiday Edition (2023) and August Edition (2024). As a founder & violinist of the Crown Quartet, Alyssa has performed for over 30,000 spectators at Columbia University’s 2023 Commencement Ceremony, as well as the 2023 Inauguration of the University’s 20th President.
During her time with the Oxford University Orchestra in 2024, she toured Northern Italy and performed at world-renowned venues like Teatro Ponchielli, Basilica di S. Maria Maggiore, and Auditorium Paganini. She also served as Principal Violinist of the Oxford Gershwin Players.
With nearly 4 million views and 10,000 followers on TikTok, Alyssa loves to share her string arrangements and covers online while experimenting with diverse musical styles like pop, jazz, classical, and folk. Her videos have been recognized by acclaimed artists like Laufey, Tori Kelly, and JVKE.
