Alex de León
Biography
Alex is a songwriter and composer from Mexico City, specializing in arrangements and orchestrations. She has a passion for blending contemporary music with theatrical elements. Alex recently completed an internship with The Lion King production in Mexico City, gaining valuable experience in the music supervision and stage management departments. Prior to this, she lived in London, where she worked as a singer-songwriter, collaborating with Soho Sonic Studios on her music as part of their ‘Exclusive Artist Development Program,’ and has released two of the songs she worked on with them: Bad Habits and Doomed.
Alex self-released an EP titled Minutes & Hours, which she wrote and produced herself, exploring themes of homesickness, fear of failure, and the passage of time. She graduated in Songwriting from Leeds Conservatoire, and has recently been accepted into the master’s degree program in Music Composition: Screen Scoring at NYU. Now, she continues to evolve as a composer, drawing on her diverse experiences to create emotionally resonant music that spans contemporary and theatrical genres.
