Biography
Alessandro Leonardo Di Costanzo is an Italian-Cuban-American percussionist, educator, and performer based in Miami, Florida. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at Florida International University, where he studies jazz performance while actively performing in collegiate ensembles and theatrical productions.
In addition to his work as an educator and theatre musician, Alessandro regularly performs throughout South Florida as a freelance percussionist and drummer, appearing in concerts, private events, community performances, and theatrical productions. His performance experience spans jazz, musical theatre, concert percussion, marching arts, and percussion performance.
His theatre credits include Sister Act at Seminole Theatre, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Kings, Queens and Thieves, and No Puedo, I’m Sorry, for which he served as percussion arranger and performer.
Alessandro currently serves as the Percussion Director at Mater Academy Charter Middle/High School. A recipient of the 2026 Gold Coast Jazz Society Jeanette M. Russell Jazz Scholarship, he is passionate about performance, education, and creating meaningful musical experiences. His long-term goal is to build a career that bridges musical theatre, jazz performance, and arts education while inspiring the next generation of musicians.
