Biography

Abigail Galleta Canafe is a music director, keyboardist, ​keyboard programmer, accordionist, and arranger from the ​San Francisco Bay Area, soon-to-be based in New York City ​beginning in August 2024. Abigail is a proud member of ​Musicians United for​ ​Social Equity and Maestra Music.

She actively works wit​h regional theaters, professional training companies, and ​education programs, most recently with New Conservat​ory Theater Center, Youth Musical Theater Company, One S​tage Theatre, East Bay Center for the Performing Arts, ​and Kairos Music Academy. She has worked on over 20 the​atrical productions, ranging from musicals and plays to​ revue shows and original operas.

Abigail received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in music and cognitive science from the University of ​California, Berkeley, where she studied piano, harpsichord, and chamber organ performance. She is a ​recipient of the Roselyn Schneider Eisner Prize in Music as well as the Joan C. Reutinger Prize in ​recognition for piano performance.
