Biography

Karan Viegas is a film composer & record producer whose work blends neo-classical scoring with cross-cultural & contemporary influences. Based in Toronto after nearly a decade in New York City, he brings a playful yet emotionally precise voice to character-driven stories.

Karan has scored several short films, created & performed original music for the Toronto Fringe musical comedy Self Helpless (2025) and is set to release his debut EP Agape! in 2026. Collaborators have included members of Lion King on Broadway, Phillip Glass Ensemble & Berklee Indian Ensemble. His work has been featured in Rolling Stone & on BBC Radio One, and screened at festivals including the Vancouver Asian Film Festival & Outline Festival Moscow.

Born in Bombay into a family of musicians, Karan trained in classical piano for 12 years through Trinity College London, founded experimental rock bands as a drummer & songwriter, before moving into film scoring & production. He is a graduate of Columbia University and previously developed digital products for creators at Spotify & Wattpad owing to a dedication to supporting the human artist ecosystem.
