Biography

Alex is a songwriter and composer from Mexico City, specializing in arrangements and orchestrations. She has a passion for blending contemporary music with theatrical elements. Alex recently contributed orchestration for the Overture of The Town Hall Spring Shout Benefit Concert Honoring Lin-Manuel Miranda in New York City, performed by the Pops of Color orchestra. After the Overture was performed, she was recognized in the concert program as an early-career Latinx orchestrator. She worked on the project under the guidance of music director Sean Mayes, whom she first met during her internship with The Lion King in Mexico City.

During her time with The Lion King, Alex gained valuable experience working within the music supervision and stage management departments of a major Broadway production, deepening her understanding of professional theatre at an international level. Prior to this, she lived in London, where she worked as a singer-songwriter, collaborating with Soho Sonic Studios on her music as part of their ‘Exclusive Artist Development Program,’ and has released her EP Lost in the City, which includes the previously released songs Bad Habits and Doomed. Alex also self-released her debut EP Minutes & Hours, which she wrote and produced herself.

She graduated in Songwriting from Leeds Conservatoire in the UK and is now based in New York City, pursuing her master’s degree in Music Composition: Screen Scoring at NYU Steinhardt. Alex continues to evolve as a composer, drawing on her diverse experiences to create emotionally resonant music that spans contemporary and theatrical genres.
