Soleil Singh
Biography
Soleil Singh is a writer and performer originally from Dallas, Texas, now based in NYC. She is a recent graduate from Yale University where she received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology, and primarily took courses apart of the SHEN curriculum at Yale, including Music Composition with her mentor Jeanine Tesori. During her time at Booker T. High School PVA she composed her first musical, Most Likely To (later workshopped at Yale University in ’22), and a song from the show, Love in The Scene, gathered national attention. She was named a winner of the National Musical Theater Songwriting Competition in 2020, sponsored by the American Theater Wing and National Endowment of Arts, and her music has been heard on iHeartRadio, featured on Netflix, and performed at 54 Below alongside U.S. College Showcases.
During her sophomore year, she co-founded the Yale Artists Cabaret, which was dedicated to creating opportunities for performers – and since then, she has directed and co-hosted over 10 productions, including co-producing Yale’s first ever showcase this past May. She is known for her pop-rock influence, catchy hooks, and comedic timing in order to tell stories that are universal and free from prescriptive stereotypes. As an ABCD, she embraces not knowing the answers to everything… but she sure loves the exploration in finding out. Her storytelling is constantly developing and with her growth one thing remains consistent: this is what she loves to do.
