Biography

Darrick Brown is a music director, conductor, and pianist. He earned his Bachelors Degree at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music. Four months after graduating college, he started his journey as the Music Associate and Conductor/Keys Swing for the Tony and Grammy Award winning Broadway musical Hell’s Kitchen (1st National Tour). Darrick was the first black person to conduct the production of Hell’s Kitchen. He has served in various positions on the music team in theater. He has served as a Music Director, Music Supervisor, rehearsal accompanist, Orchestrator, Vocal Arranger, and instrumentalist. Darrick has been blessed to learn under the tutelage of Cathy Rand, Kevin Stites, Dave Pepin, and Kevin Seigfried. He is a trained pianist who enjoys playing various styles of music: Musical Theater, Pop, R&B, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Gospel. He also plays Saxophone, Tuba, Percussion, and Euphonium. Darrick always aims to lead with compassion, kindness, integrity, and honesty. He is known for fostering positive, healthy, and respectful collaborative environments that allow for everyone to put their best foot forward. Darrick is a strong advocate for performing arts in schools. He has worked with artists of various age and experience groups.
