Francisco Luis Ortiz
Biography
Francisco Luis Ortiz has excelled as a musician, classical and popular, for almost two decades. He studied his Master’s in Choral Conducting at Westminster Choir College. His Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education was obtained from the University of Puerto Rico Río Piedras Campus and he studied singing at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music. He has been a member of the Westminster Choir, an ensemble with a long tradition, the Choirs of the University of Puerto Rico, and the San Juan Philharmonic Choir where he serves as its associate director. He has worked with directors such as Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Joe Miller, Amanda Quist, Carmen Acevedo Lucío, among others. He currently serves as director of the Choir of the University of Puerto Rico in Utuado and as a professor of the Musical Theater Ensemble, choral conducting, and vocal techniques at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón.
