Melissa Westgate
Biography
Melissa holds the cello chair for the new Broadway show, How to Dance in Ohio and is a member of the Greenwich Symphony in CT. She has also performed in the American Symphony, the Discovery Orchestra, Orchestra Lumos, Harlem Chamber Orchestra and the Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra. Previously, Melissa was the cellist for New York New York and Mrs. Doubtfire on Broadway. In addition to subbing for the Broadway Shows, Wicked and Hamilton, she has played in the band for Broadway Backwards and backup orchestra for The Who.
In 2018, Melissa began composing music for cello and piano and cello duo. During the pandemic shutdown, she ventured beyond duos and started recorded multiple cello tracks with Midi which she compiled into an album called Cello Flight. Listen at melissawestgate.com
