Dylan Alexander Schifrin
Biography
Dylan Schifrin is an award-winning LGBTQ and Hispanic composer/lyricist, librettist, playwright and music assistant. Distinctions include the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center (NMTC Semifinalist), New Musicals Inc. (New Voices Project Finalist), IAMA Theatre Company (Emerging Playwrights Lab Member), the Civilians (R&D Group Semifinalist), ASCAP, and the Foundation for New American Musicals (MUSI-CAL, SHOWSEARCH). Dylan is a member of ASCAP, the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop and UNTITLED Musical Project, a new writers group for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ musical theater writers based in NYC. He is a music assistant to Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (current projects: UP HERE, THE PRINCE AND THE DRESSMAKER), and has worked as a copyist on productions and readings in NYC and LA, including the Broadway revival of for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow is enuf. B.A. Yale College, Musical Theatre Composition (with distinction).
