Ness Wong
Biography
I’m currently fourth-year Comprehensive Music Studies student at the University of Toronto working towards a specialist in Comprehensive Music Studies, a major in French Language Learning, and a double minor in History and Asian Canadian Studies.
After starting with the piano, I switched to the cello at age 8, and have since performed with the Toronto Chinese Orchestra, and the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra, as well as at the Royal Ontario Museum. I have also performed at the Richmond Hill Center for the Performing Arts and with the University of Toronto Campus Philharmonic Orchestra on oboe. In 2021, I worked as the Assistant Music Director of the St. Michael’s College Troubadours’ production of The Theory of Relativity and as a voice actor for the UC Follies’ production of Black Hollow. Since 2015, I have been working with the award-winning Toronto-based independent film group Minus Comm Films.
I am currently serving as the President the Faculty of Music Undergraduate Association at UofT. Since 2016, I have also been teaching in a variety of subjects such as music, math, French, and English to students aged 7-20. Since May 2019, I have also had the privilege of working in the Performance Collection at the UofT Music Library.
