Biography

Hi! I’m Jorge. I’m a musical theater actor/musician born and raised in the Dominican Republic, and currently living in Mexico City.

Before being an actor I actually took music lessons as a bass player for a couple years, which led me to study Music Production here in Mexico. While in college, I was fortunate enough to share with artists from different disciplines that encouraged me to find myself in other ways of expression. I reassured my love for songwriting, singing, and just music in general; but I also found great pleasure in acting and dancing, and that’s how musical theater made its way into my heart.

Even though I’ve worked mostly as an actor in Mexico City’s musical theater scene, I very much intend to keep polishing my abilities as a songwriter, as I believe this beautiful country has been, for a long time now, in need of fresh, original musicals. And I want to be a part of that, too.

As a songwriter, I wrote the songs for a “chamber musical”, as I like to call it, (meaning a short 1-1.5hrs play made for a small cast to perform in a small venue), called “Aquella Banca del Parque” along with a collaborator, with whom I’m currently working on another musical meant to open in Guatemala when the pandemic allows us to do so.
