Overview
The Lewis Center for the Arts and Department of Music are looking for an Associate Music Director to work jointly in these two academic units, focusing in the Program in Music Theater. This is a part-time, ten-month term position. The Associate Music Director will lead the new Playhouse Choir, a singing ensemble, as well as provide mentorship for student music directors on student musical productions and accompaniment for Music Theater classes. The Associate Music Director will play an important role in building a community of singers and musicians interested in all forms of music theater.

Responsibilities
Directing the Playhouse Choir, including leading two rehearsals each week of the fall semester, preparing each rehearsal and administering the choir.
Mentoring student music directors working on student led musical theater productions of all sizes within the Program in Music Theater and the Music Department.
Accompany courses and co-curricular classes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Excellent keyboard skills, including experience in accompaniment and coaching
Experience as a Music Director in music theater
Knowledge of the music theater field preferred
Mentorship experience for younger musicians and music directors.
